Album Review: Second Spirit – The Weight of Just Living

Smacked out the gate by a maelstrom of rage and fury, first impressions conjure the words “fast” and “heavy” and “Coalesce.” That guitar sound, the riff, and the vocal delivery are like Coalesce sped the heck up. The spiraling guitar line and slamming snare additionally evokes Indecision’s Release the Cure, but the sound soon manifests its own identity quickly, and the ire spewed is certainly exclusively personal, harvested from pure disgust at the current environment and acrid times.
