Album Review: Sam Gellaitry – IV

So much about music enjoyment is expectations—you want your favorite artists to do something different, sure, but you really hope their new stuff has the same elements that you already loved about them. Heck, you even hope for an album to keep things in a similar lane, so you can continue to enjoy a whole record when you’re in a particular musical mood. I know I’ve struggled since the pandemic hit of having very specific stylistic whims and being grumpy/irritable when my playlist or album doesn’t jive with what I want.
