Album Review: Mordred – The Dark Parade

It’s not the 1980s, but damn if Mordred isn’t back and better than ever! July 23 will see the band release the absolutely stunning if not brilliant, The Dark Parade, via M-Theory Audio. The record is eight songs of rock, metal, and hip hop married together in only a way that Mordred, and literally no one else could make work and certainly does on this record. Fusing different musical genres together is difficult to pull off in a way that sonically works. A short list includes Rage Against The Machine, Stuck Mojo and, yep, even Limp Bizkit, but they pale in comparison to Mordred who somehow figured out the math to take rock, metal and hip-hop, mix it together, and filter out the sound in such a way that not only is it balanced and complementary, but each genre retains its identity as well. ...
