Album Review: Mom Jeans – Sweet Tooth

With an honest approach to song-writing, but not letting that honesty consume the fun they put into their music, Mom Jeans is back to release their third full-length album Sweet Tooth. For this release, they decided to take inspiration from the radio hits of the 90’s and early 2000’s. Bands like Blink-182 and Third Eye Blind come to mind when listening to Sweet Tooth, and if the goal was to make fun songs that are reminiscent of yesteryear, Mom Jeans has succeeded. Sweet Tooth is a departure from the previous Mom Jeans albums that offered listeners an emo sound, and grittier production quality. Almost every song on this album offers explosive hooks, verses with pop-focused instrumentation, and lyrics that still try to cut to your core in true Mom Jeans fashion.
