Album Review: Eric Wagner – In The Lonely Light Of Mourning

Eric Wagner’s posthumous solo record, In The Lonely Light Of Mourning, is set for release March 19 via Cruz Del Sur. It’s weird writing this review knowing that Wagner will never see it, and we, the metal community, will  never get the opportunity to hear these songs live. Eric Wagner, the voice and soul of Trouble, Lid, Blackfinger, and The Skull, passed away August 22, 2021. In The Lonely Light of Mourning is not only Wagner’s final record, but I get the distinct feeling that maybe—just maybe—this album might’ve been Eric Wagner’s unique and artistic way of looking back upon his career and succinctly summing it up in eight songs.
