Ok, let’s be honest. If you’re reading this, you’ve already made up your mind about this album. Darkthrone are literal legends in black metal. They have nothing to prove at this point and they are well into their third decade of existing as a band. So why are you reading this review? Well, it’s probably to find out what kind of Darkthrone record Eternal Hails​.​.​.​.​.​. is. That’s why I’d click on it at least. Is this one of their blackened sludge records like Old Star? Are they doing more of a crust punk thing like The Cult Is Alive? Or are they attempting to entirely reverse the flow of time and return to their roots in death metal? The answer: None of the above.
