Album Review: Bodom After Midnight – Paint The Sky With Blood

On April 23, Napalm Records will release the first and final recording Bodom After Midnight made, and what a record it is.  Paint The Sky With Blood was intended to be the EP that the band introduced themselves to us with, followed by a full-length album later this year. It’s not farfetched to say they were poised to become the biggest thrash band in the world—eventually—and, given time, assume Megadeth’s throne. And then, December 29, 2020, the unspeakable happened. Founder, vocalist, guitarist Alex Laiho passed away. Paint The Sky With Blood is both a fitting debut for Bodom After Midnight and obituary for Laiho as well.
