It’s been a whirlwind couple of months for Danny Wimmer Presents. In October, the music festival organizers announced that they would have Metallica play two unique headlining sets at all five of their 2020 fests. Then in February, it was announced that Metallica would bow out of two of those festivals, Louder Than Life in Kentucky and the Sonic Temple Music + Art Festival in Ohio, while frontman James Hetfield focused on his addiction recovery. Now, in the wake of COVID-19, things have taken a turn for the worse: DWP have officially announced that three of their festivals — Sonic Temple, North Carolina’s Epicenter Festival, and Florida’s Welcome To Rockville — are all canceled.
