Alcest Kicks Off First North American Tour in 7 Years at The Royale in Boston [Photos]

Alcest, a post-black metal band from France, kicked off the first leg of their North American Tour last week at The Royale in Boston. The tour, named after their most recent album, Les Chants de L’Aurore, has 24 dates with shows across the United States and Canada. The show began with the Icelandic trio Kaelan Mikla hitting the stage, followed by the Japanese group Mono. The crowd eagerly awaited Alcest’s arrival, and when they finally took the stage, the place was packed, and the energy was electric. I really enjoyed Alcest’s stage setup and how they created a physical version of their album cover for Les Chants de L’Aurore.
