Yet, here we find Mavro Gala, a band formed in Athens in 2015, borrowing its moniker from Paul Celan’s harrowing poem “Death Fugue.” This screamo/post-hardcore group navigates the tumultuous waters of life, post-financial crisis in Greece, using their music as a dissonant scream against the cacophony of systemic burdens.
