Album Review: Swedish Indie Rock Trio Tribe Friday Stun On Debut LP

June 3 marked the release of Swedish trio Tribe Friday’s debut full-length album bubblegum emo via Artist for Artist. The 10-track album’s name also has a deeper meaning. In fact, since their inception in 2017, the group created the notion of the “bubblegum emo” genre, which consistently pairs dark lyrical content and gothic visuals with high-energy, pop-infused guitar lines and vibrant melodies.  Think My Chemical Romance meets the Strokes with a hint of Cage the Elephant in there, too—a thrilling mixture of emo, indie and garage-rock.
