News: Ulver Release ’70s-, ’80s-Inspired ‘Scary Muzak’ LP

Ulver released a super unique record Halloween night entitled, Scary Muzak, available via House of Mythology.  Scary Muzak is Ulver’s take on filmmaker John Carpenter’s themes—five out of twelve tracks are covers. The rest pay tribute to late ’70s and early ’80s pop culture with a little help from synths, pads, and FX. This isn’t the first time Ulver has attempted a project this adventurous and unique; does anyone remember their record, Drone Activity? Bingo.
